UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre Receives Genome Canada Technology Development Competition Award
The UVic Genome BC Proteomics Centre has received $1 million in funding from Genome Canada’s Technology Development Competition for “MS-based Structural Proteomics for Drug Discovery and Design.” A total of $9.37 million was awarded to 13 proposals to improve existing genomics and proteomics processes, or develop new technologies and techniques. Genome Canada’s Technology Development Competition is part of the Government of Canada’s Science and Technology Strategy, which seeks to create a national competitive advantage in science and technology by promoting innovation and research.
“MS-based Structural Proteomics for Drug Discovery and Design” is a joint project with Dr. David Wishart at the University of Alberta and Dr. Ron Beavis at the University of British Columbia. We would like to thank our industry collaborator Applied Biosystems/MDS SCIEX, and GenomeQuest (Formerly Gene-IT), Genome Alberta and Genome BC for providing co-funding for this project.
